Qualifications

• Current California Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Provider Course.
• Venipuncture Certification required.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, nuclear medicine techniques, equipment and procedures as acquired through completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program or equivalent.
• Ability to learn and utilize computerized patient care management system.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Must effectively read, write, and verbally communicate in the English language.

Responsibilities

• Administers radioactive materials to perform imaging and laboratory studies to aid physicians in diagnosis and treatment.
• Prepares radioactive isotopes and operates nuclear medicine cameras and related equipment.
• Explains procedures and techniques used in nuclear medicine studies, including how to compute doses and operate equipment correctly.
