When you join the growing BILH team, you’re not just taking a job – you’re making a difference in people’s lives. The NMT II performs complex procedures unique to our teaching‑hospital environment. Candidates must possess knowledge of multimodality imaging (SPECT/CT, PET/CT), data‑analysis skills, and the ability to detect early warning signs and initiate improvements. Work is performed with minimal supervision under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor, Department Manager, and Nuclear Medicine Physician. The position rotates among three sites and includes on‑call responsibilities.

Important Details

• Sign‑on bonuses are paid in two installments: the first half within 30 days of employment, the second half at six months after the start date. All payments are subject to applicable taxes.
• Full‑time status at BIDMC is defined as ≥30 hrs per week; part‑time status is 20–29 hrs per week. Per‑diem employees are ineligible for sign‑on bonuses.
• Current and former BILH candidates: restrictions apply. BIDMC internal employees or employees within the BILH system are ineligible if they have worked for a BILH entity within the last 12 months.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform nuclear medicine diagnostic examinations, including SPECT/CT and PET/CT, and assess need for additional views or specialized positioning.
• Participate in therapy procedures and maintain a deep understanding of the Broad Scope License Quality Management Program.
• Execute routine QA procedures on instrumentation and notify supervisors or managers of any equipment performance issues.
• Instruct and mentor Radiology residents and students in a nuclear medicine technology program.

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• License required: MA Rad Tech‑Nuclr Med, or equivalent registration with the American Registry of Rad Tech, or Certificate 1 Nuclear Med Tech Certification, Certificate 2 Basic Life Support, or MA TEMP, ARRT (N) or NMTCB CNMT certification. Registration must be current within 1 year of employment. BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• 0–1 years of related work experience required.
• If not already certified, the applicant must achieve ARRT (N) or CNMT certification and registration within 1 year of employment.
• Advanced technical computer skills needed for functional‑area systems and technical support.

Age‑Based Competencies

Physical Nature of the Job

Medium physical work: occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs and frequent lifting up to 20 lbs. The role requires standing and moving throughout most of the shift.

Pay Range

$48.00 – $71.33 per hour.

The range is the base hourly wage expected at this time. Compensation is determined by seniority, education, training, certifications, geography, experience, and job responsibilities. Pay may exceed the base rate through shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime, and other permissible practices.

All staff must be vaccinated against influenza (flu) as a condition of employment.
