Job summary

HonorHealth is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for the RAD Nuclear Medicine team in Phoenix. The role performs diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures, calibrates isotopes, ensures patient safety, and collaborates with radiologists and staff across the network.

Responsibilities include data entry, image acquisition, QC testing, and contributing to daily workflow. ARRT/NMTCB certification and BLS are required, with preferred Associates and state licensure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and ARRT or NMTCB radiography training required.
• Associates degree preferred.
• 10+ months clinical Nuclear Medicine experience or completion of an accredited program required.
• CNMT or NMTCB/ARRT certification required; AZ State licensure prior to start date.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic/therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures under supervision.
• Calibrate/administer/record isotope dosage and examination data.
• Obtain patient history and monitor patient safety and comfort.
• Transport patients, prepare exam rooms, and maintain sterile, safe environment.
• Evaluate images for quality and document findings in RIS/PACS.
• Maintain departmental equipment and perform quality control testing.
• Coordinate daily workflow and rotate as needed within the department.

Responsibilities:

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Nuclear Medicine Supervisor or radiologist, this position performs diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assumes responsibility for tasks or procedures as assigned. Performs data entry operations using appropriate hospital software package. Staff member may be required to provide coverage at various locations in the network.Calibrates/administers/records isotopes dosage and examination data.
• Obtains patient history, performs nuclear medicine studies and observes patient during procedure to ensure patient's safety and comfort.
• Transport patient to exam room/table, prepares and maintains room.
• Obtains and evaluates images for technical quality assurance factors including image laterality marking and annotation as required by Nuclear Medicine procedure protocols. Utilizes RIS, PACS and other, ancillary image management systems as needed.
• Maintains equipment in efficient operating order. Performs and documents all required quality control testing.
• Contacts service for repair and maintenance as directed.
• Participates in orientation, training, and inservicing of staff as needed.Rotates throughout the department as staffing and volume dictate.
• Assists in coordination of daily workflow for the department's activities.
• Maintains an orderly, clean, and safe environment for patients and staff in assigned area. Maintains stock and inventory as assigned.

EDUCATION

• High School Diploma and completion of an ARRT or NMTCB accredited Radiography program or US military Radiography training program Required
• Associates Preferred

EXPERIENCE

• >10 months clinical Nuclear Medicine experience or successful completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Program Required

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - License AZ State licensure must be provided prior to start date Required
• ARRT-American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Certification Required or
• NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) - CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) - Certification Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification Basic Life Support healthcare provider course. Required
