Job summary

Medical City Las Colinas is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technician to perform Nuclear Medicine and PET imaging under the supervision of a Nuclear Medicine Physician. The role includes administering radiopharmaceuticals and upholding high radiation safety standards.

The ideal candidate holds NMTCB or ARRT(NM) certification, Texas MRT license, and BLS. Cross-training opportunities may exist within the department.

Qualifications

• Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT).
• MRT State of Texas license required.
• ARRT(NM) or NMTCB Certification.
• NMTCB PET Certification preferred.
• Current BLS provider (AHA/ARC).
• If cross-training, certification in alternate modality within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform Nuclear Medicine and PET imaging procedures.
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals per scope of practice.
• Maintain radiation safety and quality control.
• Operate Nuclear Medicine cameras and related equipment.
• Care for in-patients and out-patients.

Job Summary And Qualifications

• Under the guidance of a Nuclear Medicine Physician, the Nuclear Medicine/P.E.T Technologist accomplishes one or a combination of several general radiographic procedures
• Performs at a technical level requiring a high degree of independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply isotopes for radiographic diagnosis
• Performs test in-patients and out-patients
• Utilizes a variety of Nuclear Medicine cameras and varied equipment
• Administers pharmaceuticals and radiopharmaceuticals as outlined in Nuclear Medicine Scope of Practice
• Demonstrates industry in radiation safety

What Qualifications You Will Need

• Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB), or Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT)
• MRT State of Texas
• ARRT(NM) or NMTCB Certification
• NMTCB PET Certification preferred
• Current AHA or ARC BLS provider.
• If current employee participating in a cross-training program, all training will be completed under direct supervision of registered technologist. Certification in alternate modality is required within 6 months of completion of training.
