Job summary

Five Star Nursing is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform advanced imaging and radiopharmaceutical procedures. You will operate gamma cameras and PET/CT scanners, ensure safety standards, and collaborate with clinicians to optimize patient care.

Colleagues must hold ARRT(N) or CNMT certification, with BLS and state licensure as required. Day shifts are four 10-hour days, with competitive weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field.
  • 2+ years of nuclear medicine imaging experience.
  • ARRT(N) or CNMT certification.
  • BLS certification and state licensure as required.
  • PET certification preferred.
  • Strong radiopharmaceutical handling knowledge and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals per dosages and safety standards.
  • Perform planar, SPECT, and PET/CT imaging studies including cardiac and oncologic assessments.
  • Operate gamma cameras, PET/CT, and dose calibrators with quality control.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions and maintain radiation safety.
  • Coordinate imaging with clinicians to ensure accurate diagnoses.
  • Document procedures and equipment performance for compliance.
  • Maintain infection control and regulatory documentation.

Position Overview

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with FSN, you will be responsible for performing advanced nuclear medicine imaging procedures that play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating patients. Your expertise in preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, operating sophisticated imaging equipment, and adhering to strict safety protocols will be vital to delivering accurate results and optimal patient care. Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals following prescribed dosages, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, including NRC and state regulations.
  • Conduct a variety of nuclear medicine imaging studies such as planar, SPECT, and PET/CT scans, including cardiac stress tests, bone scans, thyroid evaluations, and oncologic assessments.
  • Operate gamma cameras, PET/CT scanners, dose calibrators, and related equipment, ensuring daily quality control measures are completed and properly documented.
  • Monitor patients throughout procedures for adverse reactions, providing immediate care and maintaining radiation safety precautions.
  • Coordinate imaging schedules with referring clinicians to ensure accurate diagnoses and improved patient outcomes.
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards related to radiation protection and infection control.
  • Accurately document procedures, equipment performance, and patient interactions to support regulatory compliance and quality assurance processes.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of nuclear medicine imaging experience in hospital or outpatient settings.
  • Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (ARRT (N) or CNMT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • State licensure as required by local regulations.
  • PET certification is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of radiopharmaceutical handling, imaging procedures, and radiation safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
