Job summary

South College in Knoxville, TN, is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technology Program Director to lead the clinical and academic components of the program. Responsibilities

• Support the Department Chair or Program Director with any clinical and student placement or education needs in compliance of the programmatic clinical requirements.
• Establish and assess all clinical site partnerships and affiliated agreements on a weekly basis to ensure the program meets current clinical placement student needs, while working to exceed the programmatic clinical placement seat requirements to allow for program growth.
• Coordinate, evaluate, and supervise the program’s clinical operations.
• Respond in a timely manner to information request from internal and external stakeholders, upholding professional communication standards as defined by the institution.
• Provide student counseling and advising, as required.
• Maintain real-time student clinical records, including clinical hours and quarterly grades, affiliation agreements, and compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
• Maintain and encourage valid evaluation of each student by clinical instructor, facility department managers, licensed professionals.
• Plan, coordinate and schedule student clinical rotations to align with curriculum, lesson plans, and program outcomes.
• Coordinate evaluations of clinical sites, faculty/student experiences, and/or performance.
• Evaluate and update performance objectives to ensure meaningful clinical learning experiences.

Requirements

Education:

• Earned master’s degree in radiologic science or related from an accredited academic institution.

Experience

• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience post-certification nuclear medicine technology experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of academic appointment with teaching experience in the didactic and/or clinical setting

of a nuclear medicine technology program.

• Familiarity with JRCNMT accreditation processes.
• Curriculum development experience
• Familiarity with planning, assessment, and evaluation processes.

Licensure

• Must hold certification and registration in nuclear medicine technology from a national certification board and license in good standing in the state of hire (if required by the state).
