Job summary

St. Luke’s Health is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging using radionuclides and to administer radiopharmaceuticals with strict adherence to safety protocols.

You will operate cameras and computer systems, mentor staff, and ensure high-quality patient care while supporting the department’s education and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years Nuclear Medicine experience, upon hire.
  • Medical Radiographer: TX, upon hire
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist, upon hire
  • Registered Technologist Nuclear Medicine Technology, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 days

Responsibilities

  • Perform Nuclear Medicine procedures and use radionuclides to produce diagnostic images.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals and operate imaging equipment with strict radiation safety.
  • Ensure patient care and recognize conditions essential for successful procedures.
  • Mentor new employees and students on camera/computer systems and study procedures.
  • Prepare and present staff in-services and educate on proper radiopharmacy procedures (2 per year).
  • Maintain all documentation and compliant operation of radiopharmacy.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Nuclear Med Tech, you will be a specialized healthcare professional, vital in providing diagnostic and therapeutic services through the precise application of radionuclides.

Every day, you will expertly perform Nuclear Medicine procedures, utilizing radionuclides to produce high‑quality images and data for licensed practitioners. You'll ensure appropriate patient care, recognize conditions essential for successful procedures, administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate equipment, and adhere to strict radiation safety.

To be successful in this role demands current certification, advanced technical expertise, and an exceptional eye for detail, coupled with a thorough understanding of radiation safety. Your compassionate patient care and dedication to precise imaging will be essential.

  • Demonstrated mastery of all Tech I Accountabilities / Responsibilities and have complete a minimum of 1 year service in the Tech 1 position
  • Perform in‑vitro/in‑vivo studies as outlined in the nuclear medicine procedure manuals. Make determinations of the validity of the data collected before submission for interpretation
  • Mentor new employees and students on the proper use of the camera / computer systems, study procedures
  • Appropriately and professionally react to process or procedure deviations.
  • Assists with the formal clinical/technical education process of the department by preparing and presenting 2 staff in‑services per year on a topical subject
  • Independently perform all Functions regarding the safe and compliant operation of the radiopharmacy and all associated documentation. Educate and mentor qualified staff on proper radio, pharmacy procedures

Pay Range

$45.26 - $67.32 /hour
