Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to support the department with imaging studies, patient care, and collaboration with the health care team. The role involves performing NM and PET procedures, educating patients, and maintaining quality imaging across inpatient and outpatient populations.

Qualified candidates will have an accredited NM program, ARRT/NMTCB registration, Ohio radiographer license, and BLS certification or ability to obtain.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program.
• Registered Radiology Technologist with ARRT or NMTCB.
• Valid Ohio Radiographer License (ODH).
• American Heart Association BLS Certification or obtain within probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of Nuclear Medicine and PET procedures to diagnose diseases.
• Provides on-the-spot clinical thinking and decision-making to ensure patient safety.
• Coordinates patient scheduling for inpatients and outpatients.
• Collaborates with nurses, physicians, and therapists to deliver patient-centered care.

The Nuclear Medicine staff work closely with Nurses, Physicians, Respiratory Therapists, and other care team members throughout the hospital to provide the best care possible for all MetroHealth patients.

Awards or Recognitions The Unit Has Received

• All SPECT/CT, SPECT, and PET scanners are ACR Accredited
• Early life cycle SPECT/CT equipment at Main Campus
• All NM Technologists are credentialed through ARRT or NMTCB
• Performs a variety of technical procedures utilizing scanning equipment in the diagnosis of diseases in humans
• Functions in a multi‑purpose role depending on the needs of the patients and the department, and in line with The MetroHealth System approved policies and procedures in accordance with specific governing ODH regulations

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program
• Registered Radiology Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB)
• Valid Ohio Radiographer License (ODH)
• American Heart Association BLS Certification or obtains within the standard probationary period

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience

• May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day
• May need to lift, pull or push over 50 lbs
• May need to sit or stand for extended periods
• See in the normal visual range with or without correction
• Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction
