Job summary

HCA Florida West Marion Hospital in Ocala, FL is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for PRN shifts. The role performs routine NM procedures, ensures image quality and radiation safety, verifies orders, screens patients, educates them, and prepares radiopharmaceuticals across all ages.

The successful candidate will have BCLS within 30 days, NMTCB/ARRT(N) certification, and an accredited Nuclear Medicine program.

Qualifications

• Must have BCLS within 30 days of employment.
• Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist NMTCB or ARRT (N).
• Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program (associate or vocational).

Responsibilities

• Performs routine Nuclear Medicine procedures and ensures image quality with radiation safety.
• Verifies physician orders, screens patients for study appropriateness, educates patients.
• Prepares radiopharmaceuticals.
• Coordinates technical work and patient flow.
• Provides computer-enhanced post-processing of procedures.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Performs routine Nuclear Medicine procedures and produces quality images while applying radiation safety. Verifies physician orders, screens patients for appropriateness of study, educates patients, selects appropriate protocols, and demonstrates ability to problem solve image quality. Provides patient care for a population base of all ages including pediatric through geriatric. Assures the equipment is functioning properly. Prepares radiopharmaceuticals. Coordinates technical work and patient flow. Provides computer-enhanced post-processing of procedure. Establishes and maintains a good rapport and a professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments and Medical Staff. May be required to work at Ocala Regional Hospital, West Marion Community Hospital, or The Free Standing Emergency Department.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB) or ARRT (N)
• Associate Degree, or Vocational School Graduate in Nuclear Medicine Technology
• Florida State License Nuclear Medicine
