Prepares and administers radioactive isotopes and operates scintillation equipment for nuclear scanning procedures under the direction of the Radiologist. Performs in vivo procedures. Observes radiation safety, occupational health, and infection control regulations.
Requirements include an Associate in Applied Science or diploma from an accredited Radiography program in nuclear medicine technology or a related healthcare field. If you have a related healthcare degree, you must have completed one year of full-time clinical Nuclear Medicine technology experience, including didactic coursework equivalent to the curriculum recommended by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. A current Radiography license from the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy is required. Certification as a Registered Technologist in Nuclear Medicine Technology (R.T.(N)) by the ARRT or as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the NMTCB is required. BLS certification is also required.
Preferred experience: 1 year as a staff clinical nuclear medicine technologist.
