Nuclear medicine technologists are direct patient caregivers. They perform dose preparation and administration functions for diagnostic and/or therapeutic purpose; perform patient procedures, process and enhance images, and prepare images for interpreting physician to view.

Responsibilities

  • Performs Diagnostic nuclear medicine, therapeutic nuclear medicine, PET scanning, cardiac stress lab treadmill functions radiopharmacy functions as required.
  • Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
  • Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
  • Adheres to policy, procedures, protocols, and mission statements.
  • Performs all nuclear medicine dynamic, static and functional procedures required by specific studies.
  • Performs SPECT and SPECT CT imaging as required by guidelines or physician order.
  • Preps and performs treadmill functions in the performance of diagnostic studies as required.

Qualifications

Education/Training

Graduate of an approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.

Licensure/Certification

Must meet ONE of the following in totality:

Maintains current certification as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) –OR
