Job summary

Baptist Health in Lexington, KY is seeking a PET/Nuclear Medicine Technologist for full-time, first shift. The role provides imaging services using radiopharmaceuticals, supports MPI, and collaborates with radiologists to ensure accurate diagnosis and safe patient care.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an education program in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Current ARRT NM or NMTCB certification.
  • Current Kentucky Board license for Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy.
  • Advanced ARRT and/or CNMT Registry credential.
  • PET certification after 700 hours of clinical experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; obtain within 30 days if not yet certified.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Nuclear Medicine procedures for MPI and related techniques to produce images for interpretation by a cardiologist.
  • Produce quality images and prepare accurate records in the EHR; verify PACS archiving and notify issues.
  • Send images to tele-radiology after hours and communicate non-quality images for correction.
  • Improve technical performance by adopting new technology and software applications.
  • Develop imaging protocols with NM Coordinator and Radiologist.

PET/Nuclear Medicine Tech Full Time I First Shift Diagnostic and Imaging Services I Lexington, KY $15,000 Sign on Bonus for qualified individuals The Nuclear Medicine Department provides specialized diagnostic and therapeutic imaging services using radiopharmaceuticals to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. The department collaborates with radiologists and clinical teams to deliver safe, high-quality imaging while ensuring patient safety, regulatory compliance, and effective clinical outcomes.

Job Description

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist provides health care services using radioisotopes to assist in diagnosis of cardiac specific pathologies.

Performs Nuclear Medicine related procedures specific to MPI, computer processing, and related techniques to produce images for the interpretation by a cardiologist.

Exercises professional judgment in performance of service and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics.

Recognizes various patient conditions in order to provide appropriate patient care to ensure successful completion of the exam or procedure.

Produce quality images for Radiologist’s review. Prepare accurate records for images and correct information documented in electronic health record (EHR). Verifies images archived to PACS and notifies PACS administrator of any issues. Sends images to tele-radiology service after hours. Recognizes non-quality images and the processes to both inform and correct the issue. Send images to tele-radiology service after hours as requested. Improves technical performance of team by employing and teaching new technology and/or software applications. Maintains and/or develops imaging protocols with NM Coordinator and Radiologist.

Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of an education program in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Current license with the American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or certificate with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
  • Current license with the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy.
  • Current Advanced ARRT and/or CNMT Registry required.
  • PET certification recommended upon completion of 700 hours of clinical experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • If not already certified, must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
