Job Title: Nuclear Med/PET-CT Technologist
Location: Newburyport, MA

Purpose and Scope:
In keeping with Shields Health Care's commitment to excellence, the PET technologist will provide a professional, caring atmosphere to all customer groups, while maintaining a fast-paced, multi-tasked clinical environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
- Follow rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.
- Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
- Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body areas and body products.
- Perform all hot lab responsibilities.
- Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
- Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
- Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
- Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.
- Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
- Provide and issue films when appropriate.
- Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
- Refilm cases as time allows.
- Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
- Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.
Educational Requirements:
- Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which employed.
- Must be certified in CPR.
- Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of one-year prior nuclear medicine experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in starting IVs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods.
- Assist patients with mobility difficulties.
- Push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.
Internal/External Interactions:
Extensive interactions with patients, families, healthcare providers, vendors, and transport personnel.
