Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 2 to support piping and HVAC layout, seismic and missile assessments, fuel handling equipment, and hazard protection designs. The role reports to the Manager, Plant Engineering and is located in Cranberry Township, PA or Rock Hill, SC.

It is a hybrid role with on-site work two days per week. You will interact with systems, equipment, structures, and plant layouts, using 3D design tools and regulatory-compliant processes to deliver

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience.
• Ability to work both remotely and on customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Support design, fabrication, construction, and maintenance of large-scale nuclear and non-nuclear projects.
• Perform physical arrangement of nuclear island structures, equipment, piping, commodities, and support using 3D design software.
• Conduct hazards evaluations with 3D plant models and analysis software.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and criteria documents.
• Collaborate with Westinghouse design architecture (WNEXUS) to review and verify engineering designs.
• Prepare reports to satisfy regulatory, code, and customer contract requirements.
