Forge is seeking a Components Mechanical Engineer to work on Ember, a 25 MWe nuclear reactor. You will design, analyze, and own hardware across valves, heat exchangers, and drive mechanisms, with testing and environmental validation to ground analysis.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in mechanical engineering and 1+ years of hands-on hardware experience, plus collaborative, problem‑solving skills. Role is full-time in LA’s South Bay, with relocation as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related technical discipline.
• 1+ years of engineering experience designing, analyzing, and building mechanical hardware (internships and school projects qualify).
• Experience leading or working on an engineering competition team (e.g. Formula SAE, Baja SAE, Solar Car, Rocketry, Cubesat).

Responsabilités

• Develop flow control devices, mechanisms, and heat exchangers end-to-end from design to reactor integration.
• Validate reliability with thermal, pressure, shock, vibration, and radiation testing.
• Collaborate with peers to balance cost, efficiency, and deployment logistics.
• Support assembly of hardware in the factory and witness production.
