Job summary

Tennessee Valley Authority in Decatur, AL seeks a Mechanical Engineer, Design B (NPG), to plan and coordinate detailed phases of mechanical engineering for a major project within the Nuclear Power Group.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, PE licensure desirable, and the ability to obtain nuclear plant access. The role may require on-call rotations, travel to plant locations, and coordination with multi-discipline teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or other related engineering degrees from an accredited curriculum, plus appropriate continuing education.
• Licensed Professional Engineer desirable.
• For Fire Protection Employees: must be member grade SFPE and hold all designated restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of mechanical engineering work for major projects.
• Provides procurement, field engineering including walkdowns, modifications/maintenance, and testing support.
• May supervise or coordinate the work of multidiscipline engineers, CAD Technicians, technicians, and others.
