Job summary

UT-Battelle in Oak Ridge is seeking a Nuclear Material Control and Accountability Specialist to support ORNL’s NMC&A Plan and oversee MBA activities. The role reports to the NMC&A Manager and involves maintaining records, supporting procedures, and ensuring compliance with relevant DOE orders.

Candidate must possess a BS/BA degree and demonstrate strong documentation, communication, and collaborative skills to work with senior staff in a compliance-driven environment.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree or higher required.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain organized and accurate documentation and records.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to learn and apply new processes, procedures, and systems in a compliance-focused environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively and provide administrative and programmatic support to senior staff.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day administrative duties and programmatic functions with the NMC&A team.
• Oversee assigned Material Balance Areas (MBA).
• Enter and maintain nuclear material records data in a web-based application.
• Assist with developing, updating, and maintaining MBA Supplemental Procedures and MBA Protection Agreements.
