Job summary

Vistra is seeking a Major Projects Operations Manager to oversee the operations scope of a major project at Beaver Valley and provide fleet project support. The role emphasizes technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and successful integration of all systems into plant infrastructure.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, 15 years in nuclear engineering with at least 5 years in leadership, STA qualification, and readiness to travel for project support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• 15 years of engineering experience in nuclear power
• 5 years in a leadership role
• Shift Technical Advisor (STA) qualified
• Experience with Ops Impacts, evaluations, training, procedures, site coordination
• Knowledge of NRC regulations and INPO guidelines
• Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams
• Willingness to travel for project support

Responsibilities

• Provide Operations oversight and technical direction for all design, modification, and testing activities.
• Coordinate modifications to ensure system compatibility and readiness between Vistra and Contractors.
• Direct and approve Operations reviews aligning with nuclear safety and licensing.
• Manage support contracts to maintain quality, scope, and schedule.
• Lead Independent Operational Reviews to validate design integrity and compliance.
• Interface with regulatory bodies, internal stakeholders, and external contractors to meet NRC/INPO requirements.
• Ensure designs consider long-term operability, maintainability, and integration with plant operations including turnover and commissioning.
