Job summary

Aalo Atomics in Austin, TX is seeking a Licensing Engineer to lead and support licensing, regulatory strategy, and safety-basis development for advanced nuclear reactor projects, with emphasis on non-LWRs and DOE/NRC-regulated facilities.

The role requires RIPB, PRA insights, and collaboration with design authorities, vendors, and national labs to prepare PSAR/FSAR submittals and ensure regulatory compliance throughout design, construction, and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years licensing experience; 5+ for senior licensing roles.
• Strong knowledge of RIPB, PRA, and regulatory processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead licensing basis development using RIPB and LMP methodologies.
• Perform safety analyses and document results for licensing submittals.
• Prepare regulatory submissions and engage with NRC/DOE stakeholders.
• Coordinate with design teams to ensure traceability to licensing basis.
• Mentor junior staff and support internal QA and training programs.
