Job summary

Talen Energy is seeking an I&C Maintenance Superintendent at the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station near Berwick, PA. The role leads the I&C Maintenance Group, ensuring safe, cost-effective work within NRC licenses and plant standards.

Responsibilities include long-range planning, budget oversight, and supervision of supervisors and technicians. The candidate should have extensive nuclear plant experience, strong planning skills, and be within commuting distance of the plant.

Qualifications

• Shall hold high school diploma or equivalent.
• Shall have seven years of responsible nuclear power plant experience or applicable industrial experience, a minimum of one year of which shall be nuclear power plant experience.
• Extensive knowledge of all Maintenance programs, job requirements, procedures, work activities, and plant systems.
• Thorough knowledge of labor agreements and administration requirements.
• Thorough knowledge of all planning/scheduling requirements, information management systems and man-hour estimating programs.
• Must live within 55 minutes of the plant and be able to qualify and fulfill Emergency Response Organization duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Instruments & Controls (I&C) Maintenance Group to deliver safe, cost-effective work aligned with NRC licenses and specifications.
• Oversee long-range work planning and organizational decisions to improve effectiveness and reduce costs.
• Manage production and outage efforts, assigning responsibilities to supervisors to meet task objectives.
• Supervise shop personnel, oversee maintenance program execution, and review modifications and procurement needs.
• Develop and coach staff, providing career guidance and performance feedback.
• Support Emergency Response Organization participation and training.
• Coordinate maintenance budget development and monitor expenditures against budgets.
• Ensure work activities are properly planned and executed under the work management process.
• Promote teamwork through on-site coaching and standard-setting.
• Identify training gaps and ensure integrity of training programs.
