Job summary

Zeno Power is seeking a Hot Cell Operator for its Radiological Facility in Sunol, California. You will safely operate shielded hot cell equipment and remote-handling tooling to process radioactive materials, performing routine maintenance and documenting records as part of a mission-focused team.

The role requires hands-on work daily at the Sunol facility, with travel less than 5%. Excellent written and verbal communication and strict adherence to radiological safety are essential.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required; AS/BS in a technical or nuclear-related field preferred.
• 1+ years operating hot cells, glove boxes, or other remote-handling equipment in a nuclear or radiological environment.
• Proficiency with master-slave manipulators and remote-handling tooling.
• Knowledge of radiological work controls, ALARA principles, and contamination control practices.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to follow detailed written procedures precisely and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate hot cell equipment, including manipulators, cranes, and remote tooling, to handle and process radioactive materials.
• Perform radioisotope handling, packaging, and material transfer operations per procedures.
• Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment and containment systems.
• Coordinate with Radiation Protection technicians to maintain ALARA during hot cell operations.
• Perform routine and non-routine maintenance and minor repairs on hot cell equipment.
• Document work performed, data logs, and material tracking per facility procedures.
