Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Fuel Manufacturing Facility Shift Manager 1 for its on-site Erwin, TN location. The role leads 3–4 supervisors across rotating shifts, ensuring safety, regulatory, and quality compliance while meeting production objectives and budget constraints.

The position emphasizes operational leadership, resource optimization, and partnering with maintenance and support teams to sustain reliable fuel manufacturing processes and staff development.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree plus 3–4 years supervisory experience in a technical production environment, nuclear or military facility.
• Without a B.S. degree, 6+ years supervisory experience in a technical production environment, nuclear or military facility.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 3–4 supervisors on rotating shifts.
• Ensure operations comply with safety, regulatory, and quality requirements.
• Manage resources to meet production schedule within budget.
• Review records, authorize actions, and address performance issues.
• Coordinate with operations and other support groups to ensure training and qualifications of staff.
