Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. seeks a Supervisor 1 for Fuel Operations Management at its on-site Erwin, Tennessee location.

You will oversee hourly personnel, ensure safety, and drive timely, quality production in a nuclear-fuel environment. The role requires knowledge of applicable requirements, labor contracts, and procedures, with responsibilities spanning training, incident reporting, and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• One year of college Chemistry or Physics.
• One to two years experience in a chemical or nuclear facility OR one to two years supervisory experience in a manufacturing or military environment.
• Ability and willingness to work any shift, including work shift rotations and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Studies and understands the applicable requirements, labor contract, procedures, and equipment utilized in the work area.
• Trains and assigns hourly personnel to work to ensure that safe practices and correct job requirements are performed.
• Reports equipment malfunctions, procedural deviations, absenteeism, accidents, and/or other unusual occurrences.
• Prepares minor work orders and coordinates applicable work under major work orders and Radiation Work Permits.
• Reviews/approves applicable records, runsheets, and/or other documentation in the work area.
• Completes applicable reports and provides other information as requested.
• Administers disciplinary action when required and addresses inadequate performance issues promptly.
