Job summary

Consolidated Nuclear Security (CNS) seeks a Facility Safety Engineer to support the UPF project at the Y-12 National Security Complex. The role focuses on obtaining federal authorization for nuclear operations and evaluating hazards across processes such as chemical handling, metal production, and assembly.

You will identify safety controls, perform safety analyses, and develop safety basis documentation while working with Operations, Engineering, and DOE counterparts to ensure regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Must meet DOE O 426.2A requirements or equivalent.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.
• Ability to develop safety basis documentation and perform hazard analyses.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hazard evaluation studies and accident analyses.
• Identify safety controls to protect workers and the public.
• Perform Unreviewed Safety Question Determinations.
• Maintain safety basis documentation and DOE compliance.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and other UPF organizations.
