If this environment suits you, we have multiple opportunities for Nuclear Engineers in the Nuclear Fuel Design group.

Your Day-to-Day:
  1. Develop expertise in the design, construction, operation, and decommissioning of nuclear power plants.
  2. Grow and develop extensive technical expertise in US and international nuclear markets.
  3. Work in teams to resolve critical issues impacting the construction and operation of nuclear power plants.
  4. Develop and maintain effective business relationships with Westinghouse customers.
  5. Perform standard nuclear design reload calculations (calc_notes) using the calc_note template, following METCOM guidance, previous cycle calc notes, and consulting with co-authors, functional leads, and mentors. Interpret results and work with independent verifiers to produce archived documents in PRIME.
  6. Examples of nuclear design calculations include RSAC calculations, NDR calculations, startup calculations, and interfacing with groups within CE&SD (TH/FRD) and outside (safety analysis/licensing groups).
Who You Are:

As a successful candidate, you will bring:

  • BS Nuclear Engineering 2024 & 2025 grads (other engineering disciplines are not considered)
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred; applicable experience is a plus
  • Prior internship experience is advantageous
  • Experience with technical engineering projects or research is a plus
  • Strong technical aptitude and passion for design and analysis
  • Eagerness to learn and master engineering software
  • Engineering in Training Certification or desire to obtain P.E. license in the long term
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality
  • Eagerness to learn about PWR nuclear power plant design and operation
