Job summary

Helion, based in Everett, WA, seeks a senior Nuclear Engineering leader to direct the neutronics, diagnostics, and shielding efforts onsite. You will own the nuclear engineering agenda, mentor a diverse team, and drive milestones in a high-stakes fusion project.

You will translate annual goals into actionable tasks, manage hiring actions, and ensure delivery of critical nuclear safety, activation analyses, and dose estimation work streams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years leading nuclear engineering teams on milestone projects.
• Experience with MCNP neutronics simulations.
• Experience handling radioactive materials and detectors.
• Proven mentorship and hiring experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Nuclear Engineering team and report to the Director.
• Quantify fusion yield and simulate radiation environments.
• Oversee shielding design and dose estimation.
• Hire and develop team; manage objectives and schedules.
