This position supports the New Megawatts initiative within the Nuclear Generation Department, including power uprate projects at Catawba, McGuire, and Brunswick. The role involves developing an understanding of power plant systems, working on multi-year projects, and supporting large projects such as plant walkdowns, vendor interfaces, and program development.
The position is based near Charlotte at a Duke Energy nuclear facility or corporate office, with a hybrid work schedule involving both onsite visits and remote work. It reports to an engineering manager in the power uprate organization within the Strategic Capital Engineering Group.
Nuclear Engineer III: Bachelor's in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or PE license, with at least 4 years of engineering experience.
Senior Nuclear Engineer: Same educational background, with at least 6 years of engineering experience or 5 years with PE license.
Travel is expected at 5-15%. The posting expires on June 20, 2025. This is a full-time, mid-senior level, non-union position based in Huntersville, NC, with competitive salary and benefits.
