Job summary

The Atlantic Council seeks a creative, hardworking Program Assistant for the Global Energy Center’s Nuclear Energy Policy Initiative in Washington, DC. This full-time role supports staff with research, scheduling, travel arrangements, briefing materials, and event execution.

Reporting to the Initiative’s Director, you will help manage communications, organize files, and collaborate with government, business, and international partners in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in energy and environmental studies or related field.
  • 1–2 years of relevant work or internship experience.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with superb attention to detail.
  • Experience organizing events is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural, international team.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate events and draft, proofread, edit, and publish materials and correspondence.
  • Conduct research to support initiative projects, including briefings and talking points.
  • Prepare briefing notes and contribute to concept notes and research projects.
  • Serve as a liaison for internal and external offices including officials and executives.
  • Organize and maintain files, documents, contacts, and confidential records.
