Job summary

Entergy seeks an Engineer I - Sr. (Nuc) to perform design engineering modifications for nuclear plant projects in a hybrid work setting in Louisiana. The role develops modification packages and ensures designs meet the plant design basis.

Responsibilities include completing engineering calculations, coordinating with plant departments, and interfacing with regulators to maximize plant power generation and minimize downtime. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Experience in nuclear power design or operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering design modification packages in accordance with defined standards and procedures.
• Ensure project modification designs maintain the plant design basis and represent the optimum design alternative.
• Complete / revise engineering calculations in support of plant design modifications.
• Deliver timely, constructible, economic and maintenance friendly modification designs in support of plant needs.
• Coordinate project design engineering activities with plant departments to minimize downtime and maximize power generation; interface with regulatory/industry representatives.
• Work with Project manager and project estimator to identify risks, forecast cost and schedule within budget.
• Ensure fleet lessons are learned and good practices are implemented.
• Serve on outage engineering support teams as assigned.
• Attend training and maintain qualifications necessary to perform required group functions.
• Act as design authority for the site.
• Serve on Emergency Response Organization (ERO) as assigned.
• Oversee development of drawings, specs and designs for major plant modifications.
