Nuclear Deputy Project Quality Manager - Kiewit Nuclear Solutions - Idaho Falls, ID

We are seeking a qualified Nuclear Deputy Project Quality Manager to oversee quality assurance activities at our Idaho Falls project site. The role involves managing the development and implementation of project-specific quality plans, ensuring compliance with nuclear standards, and leading quality teams to meet project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement the Project Quality Plan (PQP).
  2. Review subcontractor quality plans for contractual compliance.
  3. Manage and train quality staff, ensuring access to necessary resources.
  4. Oversee Nuclear Quality Assurance programs, including issues management, audits, and inspections.
  5. Lead and mentor QA/QC personnel.
  6. Maintain positive client relationships and promote a nuclear safety culture.
  7. Interpret standards and regulatory requirements, defining implementation strategies.
  8. Coordinate causal analysis investigations and QA audits.
  9. Analyze trends and develop mitigation strategies.
  10. Ensure completion and organization of all quality documentation for project turnover.
  11. Participate in operation planning and ensure Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) are developed.
  12. Perform performance reviews for quality personnel.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree in engineering, science, or technical field.
  • At least 10 years of nuclear quality experience in DOE or NRC environments.
  • Knowledge of Nuclear Quality Management Systems and EPC contractual models.
  • Understanding of nuclear construction codes and standards (e.g., ASME, NRC, DOE).
  • Leadership and organizational skills, with effective communication abilities.
  • NQA-1 lead auditor qualification or ability to qualify within 1 year (highly desirable).
  • Experience with commercial grade dedication processes.
  • Certifications such as ASQ CMQ/OE or others are recommended.
  • Ability to access all site points and travel as required.

  • Availability for overtime and travel as needed.

Compensation & Benefits: $150,000 - $157,000 annually, plus comprehensive benefits including health plans, retirement, and paid time off.
