Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a candidate to participate in and complete Senior Reactor Operator training to operate the nuclear generating plant safely, overseeing control room activities and ensuring licensing compliance.

Starting base pay ranges from $46.60 to $70.00 per hour, with substantial annualized total compensation and bonuses upon attaining licenses, plus health, PTO, retirement, and educational reimbursement benefits. May start May 2027 or sooner.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering, engineering technology or related sciences; or a professional engineer license.
• Nuclear experience or equivalent as required by ACAD 10-01 depending on degree, with 18–36 months experience for various paths.

Responsibilities

• Oversee control room operations to ensure safe operation and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate shift activities with plant work schedule and other plant groups.
• Issue maintenance work requests and maintain current plant logging requirements.
• Complete mandatory training and licensing exams.
