Job summary

UPMC East is hiring a Nuclear Cardiology Technologist to join our team on a flex, full-time basis. The role mainly covers daylight shifts, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday duties, and includes a competitive benefits package and sign-on bonus.

Candidates will be placed in the correct title/salary grade based on education and experience. The technologist will perform imaging procedures at a technical level with minimal supervision, contributing to high-quality diagnostic results

Qualifications

• Strong patient communication skills and ability to explain procedures clearly.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and coordinate with staff.
• Independent judgment in applying protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Communicate instructions to patients and explain procedures to reduce anxiety.
• Identify patients with two identifiers and follow universal protocol.
• Code and track exams in RIS and ensure proper archiving and billing.
• Calculate and record patient dose per Radiation Safety Guidelines.
• Maintain records of radiopharmaceuticals receipt, use and disposal.
• Perform quality control checks on imaging and non-imaging equipment.
• Execute nuclear cardiology exams with high proficiency and quality.
• Collaborate with patients and staff to expedite care.
