Job summary

Kairos Power seeks Build Engineers to develop, execute, and continuously improve work packages for reactor construction. You will bridge planning, scheduling, and field execution, ensuring CTB readiness before work begins and incorporating lessons learned into future revisions.

This is an AI-enabled, hands-on engineering role in a modern organization. You will spend substantial time with the team during execution, translating drawings and specs into actionable work packages, and using AI tools

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Nuclear, Chemical, Industrial).
• 6+ years in engineering, construction, manufacturing, or hands-on projects translating requirements into work packages.
• Experience translating technical definitions into executable work and practical hands-on skills.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs.

Responsibilities

• Develop safe, clear, correct, concise work instructions for reactor construction, integration, test, activation, rework, and related activities.
• Translate drawings, BOMs, specifications, engineering requirements, safety controls, quality inspection requirements, tolerances, acceptance criteria, tooling, and prerequisites into executable work packages.
• Establish Clear to Build (CTB) readiness by identifying missing prerequisites before work begins.
• Work alongside technicians during field execution to observe, answer questions, capture deviations and lessons.
• Maintain work-package and configuration traceability and adhere to engineering authority and quality hold points.
• Coordinate/partner with additional resourcing and travel to facilities to support assembly activities.
