Short Description

A Nuclear Medicine Staff Technologist is responsible for:

  1. Acquisition and processing of Nuclear Medicine exams, including general scans and Nuclear Cardiology studies.
  2. Quality control of Nuclear Medicine equipment.
  3. Safe handling of diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals.
  4. Weekday, weekend, and holiday call for after-hours emergencies.
  5. Compliance with NRC and NJDEP radiation safety regulations.

Experience Required

Completion of clinical training through an NM training program or college requirements.

Education Requirements

Graduate of an AMA-approved program in Nuclear Medicine.

License/Certification Requirements
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Current ARRT - American Registry Radiology Tech License or
  • Current CNMT - Certified Nuclear Medical Tech License.
  • Current NJ-NUCMED - NJ Nuclear Med Tech License.
