We seek an outstanding individual with innovative and integrative teaching approaches to lead the Anatomy and Physiology education to both biology majors (Advanced A&P+Lab) and non‑major, including Health Science majors (Basic A&P+Lab).

While this position focuses on A&P, it is expected that the candidate will be proficient in teaching other disciplines in biology complimentary to existing members of the department and in new areas of focus, including, but not limited to molecular biology, genetics/genomics, ecology/evolution, virology, and student‑led research in biology within the context of teaching labs.

We encourage those to apply who are dedicated to undergraduate education using approaches that capture the current body of students, while maintaining the expected high level of education provided by Rutgers University.

The successful candidate is expected to lead the A&P mission of biology, and contribute to the general needs of the academic program. The candidate will be a contributing member of the department by serving on relevant departmental, campus, and university committees.

The candidate should also have great interest and preferably experience in guiding capstone MS students in both the Biology Department and more campus‑wide interdisciplinary research through the Center for Computational and Integrative Biology (CCIB).

The teaching load for teaching professors is 4-4, and salaries and benefits are competitive.

The successful applicant is expected to contribute to the development and implementation of innovative curriculum taking courses in new directions and is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses.

First consideration will be given to candidates whose application is received by October 1, 2026. The search will continue until the appropriate candidate is found.
