Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Automation Controls Engineer to join the NTI team in North America, focusing on emerging automation and robotics across the network. You will be the SME for control systems, defining standards, guiding design, and aligning with engineering, vendors, and operations to scale robust solutions.

You will review PLC, HMI, and SCADA implementations, update requirements, and mentor teammates as the program grows.

Qualifications

• Experience with automation controls and robotics in an enterprise environment.
• Ability to evaluate PLC, HMI, and SCADA implementations against standards.
• Experience partnering with engineering teams, vendors and operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead controls system design reviews for new automation and robotics technologies, identifying gaps against network standards and resolving them.
• Define and maintain control system standards, programming guidelines, and integration requirements.
• Evaluate PLC, HMI, and SCADA implementations against network standards and safety requirements.
• Partner with engineering teams, vendors, and stakeholders to represent RME control system requirements during design, pilot, and rollout.
• Review electrical schematics, control panel designs, and network architectures, providing feedback and updates to requirements.
