Description

Sanmina Corporation (Nasdaq: SANM) is a global powerhouse in integrated manufacturing solutions serving the fastest growing segments of the global Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) market. We are a global engine providing the end-to-end manufacturing backbone for the world's most essential and innovative brands. Whether it's autonomous vehicles, life-saving medical tech, next-gen aerospace, or AI/cloud infrastructure - our integrated solutions don’t just meet standards—they redefine them.

Summary

Our Houston Energy facility builds critical electromechanical systems for the energy and renewable energy markets, with product engineering, precision machining, assembly, and test all under one roof. As part of Sanmina Corporation, a global integrated manufacturing solutions provider, we operate in a high-mix environment where financial insight directly shapes plant performance.

What You'll Do

We are seeking an experienced Plant Controller to serve as the strategic financial leader for our Houston Energy facility. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance with a dotted line to the Plant Manager, this is a true business-partner role in a complex manufacturing environment.

Your first priority will be to learn the operation deeply and establish a reliable foundation: accurate, timely closes and forecasts the plant and leadership can trust. From there, the focus shifts to impact: improving supply chain predictability and using detailed margin analysis to sharpen pricing.

If you evaluate opportunities based on your ability to drive cost decisions, challenge operational assumptions, and lead cross-functional financial strategy rather than simply closing the books, this role offers the platform to make a significant impact on our business.

  • Own the financial function for the Houston site, partnering daily with the Plant Manager to control costs, manage budgets, and translate operational activities into clear financial outcomes.
  • Drive margin improvement through part-level margin analysis and pricing recommendations.
  • Own plant cost accounting, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and the management of excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory.
  • Improve operational predictability by collaborating closely with production, purchasing, and materials planning to smooth out manufacturing workflows and deliver reliable, timely forecasting.
  • Lead the monthly and quarterly financial close and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP.
  • Manage capital expenditure planning and analysis, and maintain strong internal controls and policy compliance.
  • Advise the cross-functional management team on the financial impact of daily operational decisions, establishing strong financial practices across the plant.
  • Develop automated financial processes and manage large datasets using advanced Excel capabilities to uncover actionable operational insights.
What You’ll Bring
  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • You bring 7+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including experience as a Plant Controller or in an equivalent senior plant finance role.
  • You have a track record of collaborative leadership, with the communication skills to translate complex financial concepts for operations teams and influence plant leadership toward profitable decisions.
  • You have advanced proficiency in Excel and a proven ability to manage and analyze large datasets.
How to Stand Out
Preferred Qualifications
  • An MBA, CPA, or CMA credential is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Oracle EBS or comparable major ERP systems.
