Job summary

Waters Corporation is seeking an Import/Export Operations Coordinator in Franklin, MA, to support the Trade Operations Team. The role focuses on compliant movement of goods into and out of the US, with emphasis on NRI responsibilities.

Interfaces with brokers, 3PLs, and international vendors to ensure timely clearance and delivery. You will manage import documentation, coordinate vendor relationships, and maintain KPIs for NRI plants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
• 5–7 years’ import/trade experience.
• Knowledge of US import/export regulations.
• Experience with international freight forwarding processes.
• Strong communication skills across all levels at Waters.
• Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Proficient in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with internal customers, subsidiaries, distributors, vendors, brokers, and carriers to ensure efficient movement of goods into the US.
• Maintain working relationships with foreign vendors to ensure inbound shipments comply with Waters procedures and regulations.
• Coordinate customer returns from foreign subsidiaries and distributors.
• Manage import documentation including customs declarations, invoices, licenses, and necessary government forms.
• Audit shipping documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Interface with customs brokers and carriers to resolve issues at import and proactively resolve problems.
• Audit customs entries for tariff classifications, origin, and valuation; correct discrepancies.
• Analyze and report on various aspects of the importation process.
• Report shipments to Customs in ACE/GTS systems.
• Perform quarterly accruals for Finance to capture freight/duty costs."
• Serve as operational point of contact for Non-Resident Importer (NRI) shipments, ensuring compliance at destination.
• Support internal audits and maintain compliance with NRI customs requirements.
• Handle logistical processes in NRI plants and ensure smooth flow of goods.
• Processing shipments in SAP and maintain shipment trackers, KPIs for NRI plants.
• Maintain relationship with 3PLs and sign off on CTPAT questionnaires.
• Oversee Flight Data details (tracking/consolidation notes).
