Job summary

Precision Build in Gibsonton, FL is seeking a highly skilled NQA-1 Quality Control Inspector to perform inspection, documentation, and quality verification for complex steel fabrication in accordance with AISC, AWS, project-specific, and nuclear QA requirements.

The role requires AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification, MT testing experience, and the ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, specs, and inspection requirements.

Qualifications

• AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification is required.
• Magnetic particle testing experience is required.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, specifications, and inspection requirements.
• Experience inspecting structural steel, complex weldments, or nuclear-related fabrication.
• Knowledge of relevant AWS/NQA-1 codes as required by project scope.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspection of fabricated steel components, welds, and assemblies.
• Verify compliance with drawings, specs, work instructions, and codes.
• Inspect material identification, heat numbers, and traceability markings.
• Review drawings, weld maps, procedures, and inspection records.
• Perform in-process and final inspections at hold and witness points.
• Identify nonconforming work and document deviations.
• Communicate inspection results to production, supervision, and management.
• Support corrective actions and disposition of nonconforming conditions.
