Qualitest in Hercules, CA is seeking an NPI Systems Engineer to join the Global Supply Chain team. You will drive the seamless transition from development to launch, become a subject matter expert on subsystems, and collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure high quality and manufacturability.

You will support R&D efforts and successful project launches, with travel to Singapore. Candidates with 3+ years in a product development environment,DfE experience, and CAD tool familiarity

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a product development environment.
• Experience with Design for Excellence (DfE).
• Familiarity with DOORs, JAMA and SAP.
• Regulated industry experience preferred.
• Electromechanical background preferred.
• Knowledge of 3D CAD or electrical CAD tools (SolidWorks or Altium Designer).
• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering.

Responsabilités

• Oversee Design Transfer using Design for Excellence principles.
• Serve as SME on assigned subsystems and train as needed.
• Liaise between R&D, Manufacturing and Suppliers.
• Ensure easy assembly and high yield via design reviews and fixtures.
• Drive cost efficiencies through system design optimization.
• Apply LEAN principles in manufacturing and design.
• Support sustaining activities and future product lifecycle.
• Design and develop assembly/test jigs and fixtures.
• Maintain documentation per QMS for instrument industrialization.
• Develop workflows with the development team to ensure QMS compliance.

We are looking for a NPI Systems Engineer to join our growing team in Hercules, CA United States!

Overview:

Working within the NPI System Engineering team as part of the Global Supply Chain organization, the engineer is accountable for the seamless transition of products from development to launch. The individual will become a subject matter expert on assigned sub-systems and related development tasks. This role necessitates collaboration with both internal and external development teams, as well as suppliers, to ensure that design and manufacturability adhere to high-quality standards. In addition to technical duties, the engineer will support activities related to Research and Development efforts, contributing to the successful launch of projects.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee Design Transfer through the application of Design for Excellence principles.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on assigned systems and provide training as necessary.
• Act as a liaison between Research & Development, Manufacturing counterparts, and Suppliers.
• Ensure ease of assembly and high yield rates by conducting design reviews and utilizing assembly and test fixtures.
• Govern and drive cost efficiencies:
• Through system design optimization during the design phase.
• By applying LEAN principles in manufacturing.
• Ensure product development considers future sustaining activities.
• Design and develop assembly/test jigs and fixtures.
• Ensure proper documentation is available in accordance with Design and Manufacturing Quality Management System (QMS) requirements for instrument industrialization.
• Develop and manage workflows with the development team as needed to ensure compliance with QMS requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in product development environment.
• Familiar with Design for Excellence principles.
• Experience with various tools. Eg. DOORs, JAMA and SAP.
• Preferably experienced in a highly regulated environment.
• Preferably with Electromechanical experience.
• Familiar with either 3D CAD system such as Solidworks or Electrical CAD system such as Altium designer.
• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical Engineering.

Additional Requirement:

• Need to travel for extended period of time to Singapore (3 months at once, 2 trips in a year (6 months total)).
