Job summary

Quest Global is seeking an experienced QA Engineering leader to design, implement, and scale automated testing across complex engineering programs in California. You will drive the automation strategy, embed tests into CI/CD processes, and champion quality throughout the development lifecycle.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage Playwright and modern frameworks, and mentor engineers to transition from manual to automated testing while delivering high-quality software for

Qualifications

8-10 years in QA Engineering, SDET, or similar software development role.
Proven transition from manual to automated testing culture.
Strong programming in Java or Python.
Experience with end-to-end testing frameworks, preferably Playwright.
Experience in a matrixed organization on cross-functional projects.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ownership-driven and results-oriented mindset.
Experience with API testing tools and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

Lead automation strategy and develop scalable testing framework.
Review and verify test suites, including API, end-to-end, and integration tests.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for rapid feedback.

What You Will Do

Lead Automation Strategy: Design, develop, and execute a comprehensive automated testing strategy, leading the charge to convert manual testing processes into a robust, scalable framework.

Review and verify Standard are follow for Test Suites: Architect and support implement end-to-end, integration, and API tests using modern frameworks (Playwright) and programming languages (Java/Python).

Integrate with CI/CD: Embed automated tests into our CI/CD pipelines to provide rapid feedback to the development team and ensure quality is maintained with every release.

Champion Quality: Act as a key voice for quality in architectural and design reviews, ensuring testability is built into the development lifecycle from the start.

Drive Technical Decisions: Lead and contribute to healthy debates on technology strategy, framework selection, and testing best practices to continuously improve our QA processes.

Collaborate and Report: Work closely with developers, project managers, and DevOps to identify, triage, and p0 resolve bugs, and to define and report on key quality metrics.

What You Will Bring

8-10 years of experience in QA Engineering, Software Development in Test (SDET), or a related software development role.
Proven, hands-on experience leading the transition from a primarily manual testing environment to a robust automated testing culture.
Strong programming skills in Java or Python.
Demonstrated experience with modern end-to-end testing frameworks, with a strong preference for Playwright.
Experience working effectively in a complex, matrixed organization on cross-functional projects.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions and advocate for quality initiatives.
A results-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, REST Assured).
Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).

Pay Range

$65.00-$73.00/hr

Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.

Work Requirements

You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
