Job summary

Standard Iron & Metal Co. in Hartford, WI is seeking a Quality Engineer for New Product Introduction (NPI) to drive APQP/PPAP and serve as the customer-facing quality representative during product development and production launches.

You will own PPAP deliverables, lead PFMEA and control plan development, and collaborate across functions to ensure launch readiness and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred.
• 4–6 years of Quality Engineering experience in manufacturing, preferably supporting NPI.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPI quality activities using APQP methodology.
• Serve as the primary quality interface with customers during development, qualification, and product approval.
• Plan, develop, and submit PPAP documentation (PFMEA review, Control Plan, Process Flows, FAI, layouts, material certs).
• Support DV/PV activities to ensure launch readiness.
• Define inspection requirements, sampling plans, acceptance criteria, and inspection methods.
• Lead root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why) and CAPA.
• Maintain ISO 9001/ISO 14001 compliance and participate in audits.
