Who We Are

With its A.I.-powered robotic technology platform, Symbotic is changing the way consumer goods move through the supply chain. Intelligent software orchestrates advanced robots in a high-density, end-to-end system - reinventing warehouse automation for increased efficiency, speed and flexibility.

What We Need

Symbotic is seeking a highly motivated NPI Procurement Manager to join our Procurement organization within the Strategic Launch Team. This role is procurement's face to the program and product launch - bridging Strategic Sourcing and Sourcing Operations during the development phase of new initiatives. This person will help ensure teams remain aligned, procurement stays on track and risks are identified and managed early. They implement the sourcing strategy, guide the project team, and oversee PO execution to ensure alignment with strategy and on-time delivery of the product and/or program. This role will also be responsible for supporting cost model development for the final product by managing and reporting cost impacts throughout the development process.

What We Do

Our global procurement organization partners closely with the business to build category strategies that drive competitive advantage. We own strategic sourcing and supplier agreements end-to-end - from commercial and pricing structures through supplier relationship management - while our sourcing operations ensure disciplined execution at scale. Our scope spans the full lifecycle: procuring robotics, structural, and automation components at the core of our systems, sourcing third-party partners for installation and deployment, and ensuring robust aftersales support once systems are live - all in service of Symbotic's commitment to reimagining the supply chain and transforming the movement of goods through intelligent automation, while bringing unparalleled value to the customer. Every decision is grounded in a relentless focus on total cost of ownership, balancing speed and rigor to drive the best outcomes for the business.

What You'll Do
  • Develop program-specific sourcing plans for each assigned NPI, retrofit, or cross-functional initiative, aligned with strategic sourcing direction.
  • Guide the project team to the sourcing strategy, feeding required sourcing information throughout the development phase. Larger product launches typically involve six to twelve months of sustained engagement, running in parallel with development before the final sourcing strategy is selected.
  • Serve as procurement's representative on engineering and program management activities, typically attending multiple recurring meetings per week for the duration of the program.
  • Manage and expand financial risk and opportunity associated with the development lifecycle, including value engineering opportunities.
  • Manage and expedite execution risks throughout the development phase, directing PO execution by Sourcing Operations to keep it aligned with the sourcing strategy.
  • Partner with category buyers and strategic commodity leaders to align program requirements with existing category strategies, supplier capacity, and pricing agreements.
  • Drive engineering toward the engineering-aligned Approved Vendor List (AVL) and preferred, qualified suppliers during design, minimizing unapproved sole-source or single-source spec-Ins before designs lock.
  • Ensure aftersales and total-lifecycle considerations - spare-parts (RSPL) sourcing, serviceability, warranty exposure, and cradle-to-grave cost - are represented in development-phase sourcing decisions, partnering with the Procurement Aftersales team.
  • Feed real supplier quotes and should-cost data back to Strategic Sourcing to support cost-model creation, bottom-up estimating, and sell-cost maintenance.
  • Flex across multiple concurrent programs - NPI, retrofit, and other procurement-impacted initiatives - as priorities and launch schedules shift.
  • Facilitate communication between engineering, program management, category buyers, and suppliers on cost, schedule, and quality topics.
  • Identify and elevate material and supply risks to leadership with recommended resolutions.
  • Report on program-level procurement status, including risk, schedule, and cost metrics, to cross-functional and executive stakeholders.
  • Support the transition of programs from development into steady-state Sourcing Operations ownership.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or program/project management, ideally within Automation, Robotics, Material Handling, or a related industry.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional engineering and program management teams during new product development.
  • Strong understanding of sourcing strategy, category management, and purchase order execution processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent programs and shifting priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong communication and relationship-management skills across engineering, procurement, and supplier partners.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
Our Environment
  • Up to 10-20% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
  • This role works cross-functionally across engineering, program management, and procurement teams and may require flexibility to align with project meeting schedules.
