Job summary

Continental Group Sector ContiTech USA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive new product introductions and provide comprehensive production support for rubber/plastic product lines as they transition from design to in-house or outsourced manufacturing.

You will collaborate with design, process, test, reliability, and manufacturing teams to resolve technical challenges, optimize efficiency, and deliver cost improvements while maintaining strict quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering: Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 2+ years in a manufacturing environment supporting product introductions, equipment installation, and production/process support.
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Troubleshooting manufacturing processes
• Good writing and verbal communication skills
• Good MS Office skills and other engineering software

Responsibilities

• Provide production technical support and troubleshoot production issues.
• Coordinate department processing, technical and quality activities.
• Develop rubber technology knowledge and pursue cost reductions; support operators with technical decisions.
• Provide technical customer service and answer customer questions on rubber products.
• Disposition of non-conforming material per standards.
• Set up lab and factory evaluation trials.
• Maintain technical and quality status reporting.
• Resolve technical problems with stocks, materials and equipment.
• Assist in product release strategy and returns process.
• Drive new technology to reduce stock processing problems and apply Poka Yoke.
• Improve physical properties of existing compounds.
• Provide technical support for equipment design and processing equipment.
• Assemble and analyze compound performance data.
• Apply analytical troubleshooting techniques.
• Maintain and improve quality systems to ISO 9001-2015 and internal standards.
• Participate in quality audits.
• Monitor and report KPI for processing/quality with plant Controlling.
• Participate in local mixing and cross-functional projects.
