Job summary

Specialist Staffing Group in North San Jose, CA seeks a Medical Device NPI Manufacturing Engineer for a multiyear contract. Start date is the first week of October; interviews are scheduled for next week. The role offers health, dental, vision and 401K options, plus 13 days PTO and 9 holidays.

On-site work with a focus on introducing new products and optimizing processes. Responsibilities include developing manufacturing readiness for releases with 100+ components, leading cross-functional NPI

Qualifications

• Medical device industry experience preferred; NPI experience highly valued.
• Experience with electromechanical systems troubleshooting.
• CAD proficiency and manufacturing design analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain manufacturing readiness frameworks for product releases involving 100+ mechanical components.
• Drive cross-functional NPI reviews with R&D, Quality, and Production teams to ensure seamless and timely product transitions.
• Create and execute NPI project timelines, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Design, validate, and document assembly processes, tooling, gauges, and fixtures for precision robotic mechanisms.
• Develop and maintain documentation including design control records, configurations, procedures, lot history records, and BOMs.
• Apply lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and increase productivity.
• Lead and participate in process/product continuous improvement projects with measurable outcomes.
• Provide electromechanical troubleshooting to rapidly resolve build issues and lead root cause analysis.
• Demonstrate CAD design, rapid prototyping, tool/fixture qualification, and equipment sourcing expertise.
