Job summary
Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS) is seeking an NPI Engineer - Laser Welding to lead laser-welding technology development and deployment across CBS manufacturing sites. Based in Valley Green, PA with substantial travel, you will own process readiness, qualification, and production handoff.
The role requires a strong background in laser welding, DOE/SPC, and cross-site coaching, with a focus on robust process controls and design-for-manufacturability. Travel up to 50% will be required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Optical, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience with laser-welding processes and equipment development is highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of laser-material interaction and weld design.
- Ability to interpret drawings and translate into welding process limits.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the CBS global technical process owner for laser welding
- Define the laser-welding technology roadmap and evaluate new laser sources
- Partner with Product Engineering during concept and design reviews
- Develop robust process windows using DOE and engineering analysis
- Deploy production solutions across CBS factories and provide training
- Lead technical deployment, qualification, and site enablement across sites
