Job summary

Therm-x of California seeks a NPI Buyer/Planner to bridge project management, engineering and manufacturing for timely product launches. The role focuses on detailed planning, material procurement and supplier management to meet cost and schedule targets.

The ideal candidate will coordinate with project managers, suppliers and internal teams, perform risk assessment and report on progress. Strong communication and ERP experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in procurement, planning or project management roles.
• Planning and purchasing experience in manufacturing is required.
• Proficient with MS Office products and experience with ERP systems.
• High level of oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• ERP experience is required, Epicor is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed plans for new product introductions, including timelines, budget estimates, and resource allocation.
• Oversee procurement of materials and components for new product launches, ensuring quality and cost-efficiency.
• Ensure on-time delivery to customers through material requirements planning.
• Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service and reliability.
• Serve as primary contact between suppliers and internal teams and ensure alignment of objectives.
• Facilitate regular status meetings with stakeholders to provide updates and address challenges.
• Prepare reports and presentations highlighting achievements, challenges and improvement opportunities.
• Manage supplier relationships and production execution to meet customer requirements.
• Follow up on deliveries and expedites; negotiate and administer contracts with suppliers.
• Maintain accurate cost and lead time information in all systems.
• Replenish inventory in a timely manner using MRP reports and cross-verify with open sales orders.
• Analyze procurement data and NPI outcomes to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Establish files and controls for all outbound/inbound correspondence per order.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing to move work orders on schedule.
• Make effective decisions when multiple options exist for project progress.
• Take on other duties as defined by the manager.
