Position Summary

The NDP Machinist will work in a precision tooling environment, programming, setting up, and operating multiple types of Toolroom Equipment to manufacture tooling components from CAD models.

This shift runs Monday - Friday, 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture fixturing and tooling from engineering drawings with minimal assistance
• Build reliable tooling components on time
• Perform maintenance on Toolroom equipment
• Ensure revision levels of paperwork and tooling components are current
• Design specialty fixturing for Toolroom processes with assistance
• Troubleshoot using scientific methods and determine solutions
• Document maintenance and build activities in required databases
• Surface grind to required tolerances
• Work with others to ensure best practices during tooling build
• Refine toolroom processes
• Identify needs for fixturing, gaging, and tooling
• Develop CAM programs from CAD models
• Set up and operate CNC and Manual Toolroom Equipment
• Operate toolroom measurement equipment
• Follow all safety policies, including PPE use
• Record and report hours worked accurately
• Support company Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
• Follow work instructions and standard work
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, quality, and finance teams
• Work effectively in a manufacturing environment

Qualifications

• Technical Degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of machining precision components
• Ability to work from work orders, plans, and procedures
• Strong interpersonal and troubleshooting skills
• Critical thinking and documentation skills
• Conceptualization of complex geometry and assemblies
• Understanding of cutting tools and machining processes
• Strong math skills, including trigonometry
• Knowledge of materials and design considerations
• Advanced troubleshooting and measurement skills
• Ability to read drawings and GD&T
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Mastercam, Esprit, SolidWorks
• Experience in Medical Device manufacturing
• Knowledge of NC machine interfaces (Fanuc, Charmilles, etc.)
• Understanding of Lean principles and toolroom processes

Physical & Environmental Demands

Use of cutting oils, solvents, and chemicals; testing ensures levels stay below OSHA limits.

Pay Range

USD $26.59 - USD $36.54 /Hr
