Job summary

EMD Electronics seeks a New Product Development Designer (NPD) to lead the design, development, and delivery of complex mechanical systems. You will collaborate with NPD Engineers and Product Management to refine concepts and develop robust solutions.

The role sits at the intersection of market need rationalization and engineering execution, influencing cost, reliability, and product lifecycle decisions. Strong data-driven thinking and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 3+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Associate degree with 8+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks 3D/2D design.

Responsibilities

• Develop and conceptualize new product designs and create basic drawings for reviews.
• Translate customer and engineering requirements into manufacturable mechanical solutions.
• Collaborate with vendors/design support to improve manufacturability.
• Work with electrical and controls engineers to ensure system integration.
• Maintain design documentation and revision control per company standards.
• Facilitate transition of new products into manufacturing.
