Job summary

Dover Food Retail is seeking a New Product Development / Design to Value (NPD/DTV) Engineer to lead the development of refrigerated merchandisers and cost-reduction initiatives. You will apply value engineering, model concepts in CAD, and drive cross-functional projects from concept through field validation.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering required; MS preferred.
• 1–3 years of design of industrial products.
• Experience with product design and solid modeling in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Apply value engineering methodologies to optimize cost position on existing products.
• Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing and Manufacturing Engineering to implement cost saving projects.
• Manage the DTV project from concept to completion, scheduling and cross-functional communication.
• Brainstorm new and innovative solutions to achieve product standardization and modularity.
• Develop CAD solid models and engineering simulations of proposed concepts.
• Collaborate with Product Management to validate solutions with customers.
• Develop a test plan and coordinate with Engineering Lab to validate solutions.
• Conduct field tests to validate the solution.
• Manage multiple projects and resolve complex problems.
